Cardada offers a huge choice of excursions which can satisfy those looking for relaxing nature walks on hilly pathways as well as those who wish to undertake more demanding challenges and reach the surrounding peaks and summits by following the mountain paths. There is an exceptional view of the Alps to be enjoyed from Cima della Trosa (1869 metres above sea level) and il Madone (2039 metres above sea level) and these can both be reached from Cardada and Cimetta.
Cardada separates the Maggia Valley from the Verzasca Valley and for those who wish to explore the two valleys on foot, the mountain provides some interesting connecting routes: there are a number of paths from Cardada and Cimetta that go to Avegno (Maggia Valley) and Mergoscia (Verzasca Valley). You can follow the routes that we suggest, or organise your own personalised itinerary; there are so many options to choose from!
The route of Via Alta Vallemaggia with a total of 200 km hiking trail, is more and more popular. One of the starting point is Cimetta.
Detailed maps with the local pathways are on sale at the counters of the Ente Turistico Lago Maggiore (Lake Maggiore Tourist Office) or can be found at newspaper stands and book shops in the area.Reccomended excursions
