1950 Foundation of the company FLOC (Funivia Locarno Orselina Cardada) with 21 partners and the president Luigi Pedrazzini with concession for the construction of the cableway

Construction of the ski lifts in Cimetta (initiative of Ulisse del Grande)

1952

Construction of the first cable car to connect Orselina to Cardada (Boldrini company from Locarno with Von Roll firm from Thun)
December 26th, start of business with 7 employees and the ticket price at CHF 5.-

1953 In its first year the cable car cabins carried 68’598 passengers and Albergo Cardada has been purchased
1954 Construction of the chairlift to connect Cardada to Cimetta (Companies Ferriere Cattaneo from Giubiasco together with Carlevaro & Savio firm from Turin)
1960

Replacement of the traction cable and ballast of the cable car

1961 Construction of the Alpe Vegnasca – Cimetta ski lift 
1965 Construction of the Cimetta ski lift 
1968 Merger of the two cableway and chairlift companies with a single Board of Directors
1978 Renewal of the cableway’s electrical control and traction system
1982 Major intervention on the chairlift’s electromechanical system (Companies Garaventa from Goldau and Frey from Stans) 
1984

Replacement of the cable car cabins (Company CWA from Olten)

1991 Replacement of the traction cable and ballast of the cable car 
1997

Dissolution of FLOC and establishment of Cardada Impianti Turistici SA

1997 - 2000 Construction of a panoramic walkway, a recreational path in Cardada and a geological observatory in Cimetta (project by landscape architect Paolo Bürgi) 
1998 - 2000

Manufacture of new cabins with modern design by the famous architect Mario Botta and construction of the valley and mountain cable car stations, also designed by architect Mario Botta with the participation of architect Paolo Pedrazzini

Inauguration and official reopening of the new facilities on June 7th
